Clarkston... who knew?

so i was in clarkston yesterday for a Strut shoot and i happened upon the clarkston cafe. i must say, it's a pretty snazzy place. check out the decor - very retro. oh, and the food is good too! steve cooked me up a wood-fired pizza. yes, that's the same steve that you can see rocking out with woodward the band (i take all their photos too...)

slogan?

so i was thinking i need a slogan to go with the new website and logo... here's what i came up with: "Make Every Pixel Count" thoughts? cheesy? no? don't steal it if you like it...

daylight savings account.

not so sure how the whole daylight savings thing is going to affect (or is it effect?) mountain standard time. i'll let you know if anything weird happens. oh, and don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour or so! OR, if you are on eastern time (like me) and want to be on the real mountain time, set them back one hour.

if you are staying up to change your clock at 2am and are bored, check this out. or this.

at a wine bar at 2pm...

just editing some photos from a shoot in Plymouth for Strut Magazine and i came across this one from Grape Expectations wine bar. kind of a cheesy name, but it looked like a cool place. i'll have to try it sometime.

can you say Ahasuerus?

this is what i spent most of my night doing - cherry, blueberry and jelly hamentaschen to be precise. gotta love purim. and yes, i realize that this blog is quickly becoming a showcase of my food photos. don't worry, that will change. next week i will find a different theme.

couch

this used to be our couch. it is now a fort held down by buster and hazel. watch as they keep our house safe from any small children, postal workers or generally anything that may pass by the window.

logo idea #1

ok, i guess i can't resist spending countless hours working on my logo when I have yet to be satisfied with anything I've come up with. here's my latest attempt... thoughts?

leggo my logo

anyone feel like making me a new logo? i am updating my logo with my new website and need some help. here's what i'm looking for:
  • more horizontal than boxy
  • some sort of graphic element
  • some color - preferably only 1 color
  • sans-serif font
  • possibly hinting at a mountain or peak of some sort, but subtle
  • a modern look with clean lines and a simple graphic
i know i may have sent some of you my attempts at a logo a while ago, but i have abandoned that one since someone pointed out that it looked like the H&R Block logo.... which reminds me, i need to do my taxes! post your thoughts to the comments. free print of your choice to the winning logo designer.

my bread and butter

just seeing how the whole image posting thing works. here are 2 pics i rather like that i shot recently for signature magazine at chen chow brasserie in birmingham. don't worry, i didn't eat the meat.

why in gods name am i doing this?

i guess i should start off by stating my purpose for bloggin'. basically, it's because everyone is doing it. its the cool thing to do. i have always envied those who have constantly updated blogs telling anyone and everyone anything and everything. now its my turn. i will be posting mostly my photos with a few musings on other things that interest me. i don't know how often it will be updated and i don't know how addicted i will become, but if it's anything like the time i became a vegetarian when i was in 6th grade because some of my friends were doing it and i thought it sounded cool, then blogging will be with me for a while (i'm still a vegetarian). enjoy.
